JACKIE ORR

Jackie Orr is an adjunct professor of women’s, gender and sexuality studies at Barnard College, part of Columbia University. She is also an activist within the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement at Syracuse University, where she is an associate professor of sociology.

At Columbia, Orr was “a staple at the pro-Hamas encampments. She even helped them set up for the one during alumni weekend last spring.”

Now, Jackie Orr is facing backlash after publicly accusing a Jewish student of supporting genocide instead of condemning an assault on a security guard during an anti-Israel protest. Video evidence was posted to Instagram.

Jackie Orr defended this despicable behavior and has aided Columbia University Apartheid Divest in setting up protests that have threatened Jewish students and repeatedly turned violent. Orr chose to defend CUAD for its takeover of Hamilton Hall, in which a security officer was assaulted and a janitor was held hostage.

Barnard College and Columbia University’s failure to confront antisemitism head-on has led to uncontrollable escalation. Now, the administration must hold these individuals accountable and apply standard policies to prevent this hatred from continuing to thrive on campus
